Inside the Atelier Vol 3

Inside the Atelier Vol 3

The word 'busy' gets used in many ways but this last month has been busy which a capital 'B' and 'U' and 'S' and 'Y'. Does that even make sense? We're not sure and we don't really care anymore.

September was always going to be a busy month as the summer slipped away and everyone reached for their waxed jacket. But this September has been unprecedented. We've worked hard all year to pre-empt, sowing the seeds and working hard in the background but we never expected this. We've received 55 jackets to date in September and that's only Mon-Fri. That's a lot.

Aside from the waxing table, we shared news earlier in the week of our 'Beautifully Worn' Project' where we've teamed up the Community Foundation in Wakefield to release a range or restored waxed jackets and donate a profit of the sale to people who go without. We don't dip too far into politics but we know our own privilege and want to help where we can. We plan to launch the range by the end of September/Early October.

Our latest release has all been sampled and the promo shots due to be finished tomorrow then we can get it all out there and hopefully you'll really like it. We'll be taking it to the York Fashion Show on October 13th and will be shouting about that over the coming weeks. If you're local, it would be great to see you there.

In other news, we decided to take the 5 years worth of knowledge and research that we've gathered and think about creating our own waxed jacket. It seemed the next logical step on our journey and anyone who talks to us tells us we should. So here we are. More on that soon enough though we think we're looking at a lighter-weight piece for Spring 25.

Oh and I did a lovely interview with Community Clothing that you can read here

Told you we were busy.
