Inside the Atelier Vol. 10
Comparison is the thief of joy and its also the foundation that props up social media, a channel much needed for a business like ours.
'Am I doing it right if they are doing it that way?' or 'why do I never get included in those lists?' It gets pretty lonely when you run a business on your own and simply don't have the time to execute the noise onto paper via all of the ideas that swim around your head.
It's also important to be realistic. I have a house to run and a family to support so days/nights over to turn up to the opening of sock shops and pickling events don't really make it high up on the priority list.
In that vein, I personally think that the influencer game (excuse me whilst I'm sick in my mouth) offers nothing in terms of value, which is why I've never pursued that route. Even when high profile celebrities (there's that sick again) wear our stuff publicly, it doesn't effect sales.
The trend I do see is that when people do buy from us, they tend to buy again.
